Education
“As someone who served on School Board for four years and also taught in Virginia’s public schools system, I understand education. Ensuring that our children receive a world-class education always has been and always will be near and dear to my heart.” –Rosemary Wilson
Local Control
Federal mandates impose cost and red tape instead of responding to the needs of our children. As a former teacher, former School Board member, and current member of the Old Dominion Alumni Board, Rosemary understands that localities know better than the federal government how to respond to our students’ needs.
Parents’ Rights
Parental rights must be respected. The right for parents to decide the best manner of education for their children must be valued and the proper opportunities afforded. Whether these educational opportunities are public, private, or are at home always should be up to the parents.
Pay Parity for Teachers
It is a travesty that Virginia’s hardworking teachers are paid below the national average. We need to rectify this situation, ensuring that more dollars go into the classroom and that our hard-working teachers are compensated properly.
